A statement jointly released by  Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) states that the Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) will be implemented in all the trekking areas of Nepal. The statement was based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the association and board on March 19, 2015. TIMS has been implemented in all trekking areas across the country from September 18, 2015. The MoU has also fixed TIMS fee in Nepali currency. As a valid TIMS card is a must for safety and security of trekkers and support staff, and also to claim rescue and insurance facilities, it is requested to all trekking groups to carry TIMS cards with them.
