Annapurna Base Camp Trek Route Map

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking Route Map

The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is another name for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The ABC Trek over Poon Hill can be combined with a number of long-distance hiking routes. People frequently combine the Annapurna Base Camp trip with the Ghorepani Poon Hill Sunrise Trek. The Khopra Danda Trek, the Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek, and the Round Annapurna Trek are all famous hiking routes. The trekking routes all go to different Annapurna Massif bases. The ABC trek is one of the most popular hikes in the Annapurna Region. The trek, like many others in the area, begins in Pokhara, particularly along the Dhampus ridge or through Nayapul.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek takes you through the Annapurna Sanctuary, a breathtaking river basin filled with steep gorges, thin and glittering rivers, and glacier valleys. Along the way, more than ten massive mountains may be observed in quick succession.

Easy Customizing

There are several trails that lead to Annapurna Base Camp. The path travels around in a clockwise direction. One of the most popular treks begins in Nayapul and proceeds to Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Chhomrung, Deurali, and eventually to Annapurna Base Camp. The path also goes to Ghorepani Poon Hill, which is well-known. Depending on the trekker’s schedule, this route normally takes 10-12 days to complete. Because the route often passes through the mountains of the region, high altitude may be a challenge. Another issue might be the slickness of the usual path. Ghandruk village is the most popular and fastest route to the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. In the vicinity, Ghandruk is a well-known Gurung hamlet.

Difficulty

Trekking in Nepal is a bit difficult because the routes include hard climbs to gain view spots and altitude. In comparison to other treks, trekking to Annapurna Base Camp is a modest trip. However, a brief but consistent step-walking, training before the expedition is always recommended. There have been extremely few occurrences of high-altitude sickness among trekkers. Mountains, on the other hand, are constantly unexpected. Taking precautions and conducting thorough research on the trails will be an important part of your preparations before embarking.

Being a team of travel experts, Oriental Journeys Pvt. Ltd. is a travel expert and trip planner in Nepal. It does all the documentation and arrangement for the necessary permits of TIMS and ACAP for your ABC Trek. The quoted price includes the permit fee and service charge. While trekking, you will have to check in at the checkpoints where you have to display your permits and log your name. It helps in your safety as well as monitoring activities on the trails.

Discounts & Regular Announcements

We provide discounts for groups and families traveling together. A private group, on the other hand, may be beneficial. There are regular announcements about savings and other inclusions. Annapurna Base Camp Trek General Weather & Temperature

The weather and temperature variations along the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking trek. It rapidly varies with altitude increase or reduction. Naturally, seasonal change in the weather and temperature of the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking path is an important component.

Trekking ABC during Monsoon

Nepal, like other countries, has four seasons. The rainy season in Nepal is from June through July. Rain could be an issue for trekkers during the monsoon season (June to August), but the summer walk might be a windfall for any avid botanist. Few individuals chose ABC for their monsoon adventure. Other places of the world, excluding Australia, have a similar seasonal experience in Nepal. In comparison to Nepal, Australia has an inverse seasonal time.

Hiking Annapurna Base Camp between September – November

The ABC trail’s lower half will have a minimum temperature of 8.6 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. The base camp, however, is rather cold due to its high altitude, with temperatures seldom falling below zero and little rain in September. The days are typically sunny with a few clouds.

In October, the sky is brighter and there is less precipitation. Lower parts have temperatures ranging from 5 to 20 degrees Celsius. Base camp, on the other hand, becomes colder when the temperature falls below zero. Similarly, November is colder, with temperatures plunging to -5 degrees Celsius at the base camp and no precipitation. In recent years, the weather in the base camp region has been variable, with heavy snowfall during winter and spring.

Best Trekking Seasons to ABC

Autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) are the finest seasons for the journey since it is bright and pleasant, and you can see the mountains well.

Winter trek to ABC

If you want to escape crowds and severe traffic and spend some time alone with nature, the months of December to February are ideal. However, the weather might be extreme at that time of year.

Our group sizes range from solo travellers to large groups. The ABC Trek in 2024 and 2025 might begin or end in either Kathmandu or Pokhara.

Meals

The daily meals during the Annapurna Base Camp trek are not the same for all the days. The hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara include only breakfast. During the trek days (Day 04- Day 10), your trip includes three meals a day. The available food includes bread, pasta, potato, noodles, bread, Dal Bhat, with seasonal vegetables plus tea/coffee with breakfast. The unique Thakali Cuisine set first began from the Annapurna region which you will get in its original form during the trek. You will have breakfast and dinner at your lodge. However, you will have lunch at the restaurants on the route. Meals are generally vegetarian and served with seasonal vegetables. Oriental Journeys will serve you a complimentary welcome or farewell dinner at a cultural restaurant in Kathmandu.

Why Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

If you’re unsure about your mountaineering ability, Annapurna is a somewhat less strenuous route. There are fewer hard climbs, and the average altitude is significantly lower. Furthermore, rather than being funnelled into Everest’s Khumbu Valley, you may pick from a range of paths, some of which are less than 2000 meters in elevation. The descents on Annapurna are also more moderate, which can benefit the knees in the long term. Don’t underestimate the benefits of a circular route: you’ll be exploring fresh territory every day without having to retrace your steps once.

I did ABC trek at the beginning of December. Machhindra and my guide Nabin told me that this is almost the off season trek to ABC. But we went to the trek. We did not find many peoples in the trail. We seems lucky in terms of weather and had some awesome views. The trekking guide was very friendly, caring and loving. Although we have fear of snowfall, we did not face any! We did safe and enjoyable trek without having mass in the trail.

The Annapurna Base Camp trip is ideal for first-time trekkers who have a modest level of physical fitness. Our guide, Nabin, was really kind and helpful in every scenario. Hari, our porter, was always outstanding. He didn't say much, but when he did, he made us chuckle. The meal and lodging were excellent. The services were excellent and professional in general. Next year, I want to return to Nepal for the Mardi Himal Trek.

Annapurna Base Camp trek was a fantastic experience! I did it with my family. All-day, we stayed in teahouse lodges. They were basic but comfortable enough to have the rest. Food was amazing. The views were fantastic each day. We had a very supporting guides and porter arranged by Oriental Journeys. The stair to the Ghyorepani and Chomrung were tough.
The view from Poon Hill was amazing. The Base Camp was cold but rewarding with sunrise view. Hot spring was relaxing. The overall trip was excellent. I recommend the operator without any doubt.

I along with brother and sister in law did Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Oriental Journeys. This is really a beautiful trekking in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The guide cares us all way around. The average walking per day is 5 to 6 hours and the guide helped us for the comfortable walking. The trekking trail is not that difficult. We enjoyed the trek a lot and also observe the lifestyles of the Himalayas. I am really happy with the services provided by Radhika and Machhindra during the pre-planning phase of the trip. Thank you Oriental Journeys for the beautiful trek. We will definitely recommend Oriental Journeys next year. The teahouse accommodation was comfortable and the food was good during the trek.
