Day 01: Kathmandu to Chitwan

Drive Kathmandu to Chitwan in a deluxe tourist vehicle. After driving for 5/6 hours, we will reach at the Chitwan. You will check in the hotel nearby National Park. The jungle safari trip starts after lunch. A short visit around the Tharu villages will allow you to observe their lifestyle. In the evening, you will experience the Tharu Culture program. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Full day Jungle activities.

Today, you will go for full day Chitwan national park activities. After breakfast you will go for a thrilling canoe trip on the Rapti River, Jungle walk to see some wild animals, and will visit to elephant breeding center, then Elephant bathing. You will have the opportunity to take a shower from an elephant trunk. After Lunch rest, you will be going for Elephant back Jungle safari. This is the main attraction of the trip. During the safari, you can observe One-Horned Rhinos, several species of birds, crocodiles and different vegetation.

Day 03: Bird watching and return back to Kathmandu.

You will be following your guide early in the morning for bird watching inside the national park. After the bird-watching tour, your journey will start to Kathmandu following the same route.

How to reach Chitwan?

The easiest way to reach Chitwan National Park is by tourist bus/AC bus from Kathmandu with a drive of approximately 6-7 hours. Buses leave the Nayabazar, near Thamel in Kathmandu at around 7 am. From Pokhara, tourist buses will take 7 hours and depart from the tourist bus stand at 6.30 am.

Definitely, you will have a child discount offer. The child below four years are freely allowed to enter whereas below 10, need to pay 70% of the Adult Price. The child above 10 years has to pay the full fee.

How long will it take the bus from Kathmandu to Chitwan? Is it the same time from Chitwan to Pokhara?

The exact time for a drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan is just 5 hours but due to highway traffic it will take approximately 6-7 hours. In normal condition, the Tourist Bus from Pokhara will take you to Chitwan in around 5-6 hours.

Is there internet facility with free WI-FI in the Lodge?

Is it safe to travel by Road?

Traveling by road in Nepal is safe, especially by tourist coach is completely safe. However, we suggest that you take a Private Vehicle for a more reliable and convenient journey.

Do you provide a pick-up from Bus Station?

We do have a pickup service for the traveler travelling by bus. One of a representative from Oriental Journeys comes to pick-up at Sauraha Bus Station for FREE. The same way, we have dropped off the facility up to the Bus station at Sauraha.

How far are the Chitwan and Sauraha?

Chitwan National Park is located in the Chitwan district. Sauraha is a small village and tourist hub near the national Park where most of the hotels/resorts are located. The Bus from Pokhara and Kathmandu drop travelers in the Sauraha bus stand.

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you can get Nepali Sim card or you can easily get from shops near your hotel at Thamel and Sauraha, Chitwan. Two telecommunication companies distributing sim cards for tourists are Nepal Telecom and NCell. You need to present a copy of your passport and a passport size photo to get a shim card. You can use a volume-based internet with a sim card and make calls. It will charge normal call charges. Additionally, you can use telephones from your hotel you will be staying in.
