Ghorepani Poon Hill trek - Detail Itinerary

01

Day 01 : Drive to Nayapul (1,010m) & Trek to Tikhedunga (1,570m) - 5 hours

Ulleri - Annapurna Area

Today, your journey to Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill trek begins. The journey starts with about 3.5 hours of drive from Pokhara through a large village Lumle brings you to Nayapul. The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek starts from Nayapul. At first, we will be going down on a staircase and then traversing high above the river on a wide stone-paved trail to the largest town Birethanti (1000m). The trail follows the winding bamboo forests and waterfalls and once you follow the trail, you will reach a small village called Sudami and we will have lunch there. Then we climb steadily up the side of the valley to reach Hille (1510m) and after a short walking, you will arrive at Tikhedhunga. Overnight stay at Guesthouse.

Day 02 : Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,860m) - 6 hours

On the second day, the trail crosses the Tikhedhunga River on a suspension bridge then we trek down and cross the Bhurungdi Khola on a large bridge at 1520m. After this, the trail ascends on a stone staircase and it has more than 3300 steps in total. The staircase continues to the large Magar village of Ulleri (2800m). The trails softly climbs up through pastures and cultivated fields from Ulleri. This trail takes you to the refreshing Oak and Rhodendron forest. Then, it takes you to the trail which crosses two sparkling clear water streams along with a small ridge before making a short climb to Nangathanti (2460m). We will have lunch at Nagathanti. You will reach our destination -Ghorepani (2750m) after an hour’s walk from Nangathhanti.

Day 03 : Hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) & Trek to Tadapani (2,660m)

Today, we need to wake before dawn to make the early morning excursion to Poon Hill ( 3210m). Poon Hill is one of the best Himalayan viewpoints in Nepal. It provides a mesmerizing view of the sunrise over the high Himalayas. You will be enchanted with the beauties of the spectacular panoramic stretches from Dhaulagiri I (8167m) and Tukuche (6920m) to Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Hiuchhuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m). Gangapurna (7454m), Lamjung Himal (6986m) and the Mt. Fishtail and (Machhapuchhre 6997m). Your eyes never tired of seeing this beauty and your brain always instruct you to stay for longer there. In addition to this, sunrise over the Himalayas provides you lots of pleasure and tranquility. After Breakfast, our trek to Tadapani starts. We will be doing a short morning climb to the Deurali pass for a spectacular panorama over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. After watching the beautiful panoramic views, we follow the steeply descending trails through the dense and moss-covered forest with bird watching. Tadapani offers you a close- up views of the sunset.

Day 04 : Trek to Kimche via Ghandruk (1,010m) & ride to Pokhara - 4 hrs trek and 2.5 hrs drive

Today, you again have steeply descending trails through the rhododendron forest to Baise Kharka. During the trek, you will encounter a wide variety of birds and monkeys. The right-hand trail from Baise Kharka makes short, steep and descent rocks to a stream and after crossing the ridge, leads us towards Ghandruk. Ghandruk is the second largest Gurung village in Nepal. Here, you will get a chance to explore Gurung settlement, their culture, and lifestyles. Besides this, Ghandruk offers a good mountain view of Annapurna South and Fishtail, you can spend an overnight here in the guest house. After having lunch at Ghandruk, we will continue the trek from Ghandruk to Kimchi and after 2,5 hours of drive from Kimchi, you will reach Pokhara. The tour ends in Pokhara.
