Tips for Short Helambu Trek

There are some points to note before setting off for Short Helambu Trek 6 days. The tips are helpful to manage your trekking program more effectively and help to reduce possible hindrances

The accommodation in Kathmandu serves a buffet breakfast, although you will have three meals a day during the trek. Your lodge/homestay provides dinner and breakfast. The general menu of the meal lists bread, potatoes, noodles, rice, pasta, and some Indian and continental dishes. Dal Bhat is a regular Nepali dish. Your guide and porters prefer to eat Dal Bhat (lentil and rice) almost twice a day. Dal Bhat includes curry and sometimes pickles. The vegetables are seasonal, fresh, and more organic.

Helambu Trek - Accommodation

Trekkers have a 3-star accommodation in Kathmandu for the Helambu trek. It includes breakfast in a meal and a farewell dinner in addition. Helambu Trek - Detail Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive to kathmandu(1400m) and transfer to Hotel

After arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be then guided towards hotel by a representative of the Oriental Journeys

Enjoy the amazing sights of the hills and valleys as you enter this beautiful land.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 - Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour.

Enjoy full day Kathmandu sightseeing (Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath (Monkey Temple) and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
In the late afternoon make your preparation for trekking

Day 3 - Drive to Sundarijal and trekking to Chisapani (2280m).

Take an hour’s drive to Sundarijal and begin our trek along a small hydroelectric plant.
The trail then enters into the Shivapuri National Park and then through the settlement called Mulkharka which is composed of the Tamang population.
Walk along the ridges through a forest of oaks and rhododendron to Chisapani.
Halt in a guest house at Chisapani for the night.

Day 4 - Trekking to Kutumsang(2450m).

On this day begin our journey to Kutumsang early in the morning.
Savor beautiful views of the Langtang Mountains along the trails.
After crossing Pathi Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang, the trail climbs the ridge to another pass.
Spend the night in a local guesthouse in Kutumsang

Day 5 - Trekking to Thadepati (3650m).

Begin our journey from Kutumsang and trek to Thadepati.
The tracks are mostly steep and passes through fir and rhododendron forest. There are no permanent settlements around this particular region.
The trek continues to Yurin Danda from where glorious and breathtaking views of the Himalayas comes to sight.
Spend the night in as a local guesthouse in Thadepati.

Day 6 - Trekking to TarkeGhyang (2560m).

On this day you will trek to Tarkeshyang.
The trail will lead us to Melamchi Khola and then to a settlement of the Sherpa people.
You will have the opportunity to enjoy the view of the Himalayan peaks glistening under sunshine on our journey.
Also confront one of the oldest and the biggest monastery in the region.
The village is more popularly known as Helambu, since most of the inhabitants belong to the Helmu community (Himalayan ethnic group).

Day 7 - Trekking to Sermathang (2,610m).

This trek is comparatively easier because of the much lower altitude we experience.
The major part of the trail is dominated by forests, streams, and waterfalls.
The trail flows around the wide valley end between Parachin and the Sherpa village of Gangyul.
Upon your arrival at Sermathang, discover the village.
Spend the night in a local guest house.

Day 8 - Trekking to Melemchipul bazar and Drive to Kathmandu.

On this day you will walk to Melamchi Pul Bazar. Comprising mostly of the Sherpa inhabitants, Melamchi Pul Bazar is known for its hospitality.
Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer you to your respective hotels.
You will have the rest of the day to yourself to explore the city as you please.

Day 9 - Departure
