Overview of Kali Gandaki River Rafting

Kali Gandaki is a name put after the Hindu Goddess Kali, supposed to be the reincarnation of Goddess Durga. It begins from the high of the Tibetan plateau in the Kingdom of Mustang. It is of a medium length river but gives you a unique experience by offering the thundering rapids, incredible view of the Annapurna range, and the huge George which gives you plenty of pleasure. The rapid river, as being more technical and continuous, keep the rafters busy for paddling in most of the day.

The cultural revelation adds much excitement to the trip. Kaligandaki river proffer the great white water with its turbulent rapids, stunning scenery, old villages along with the great views of the mountain. A fossil found underwater is more interesting and the white sandy beach beneath the water adds more enjoyment.

    Kali Gandaki River Rafting - Detail Itinerary

    Day 01: Nayapul

    You can reach at Pokhara by plane or car taking 30 minutes or five hours respectively. The journey to this river starts from Pokhara in the early morning. The put in point is 40 km way at Naya Pul and the drives takes approximately 2 to1/2 hours. The first day’s trip consists of series of class III and class IV rapids. There is a small village lies in the high above of the river valley. The days ends with a unique experience at the campsite.

    Day 02: Modi beni

    The second day’s trip begin just after having the breakfast and there are more class III and class IV but as you go continuously to your trip ,you will encountered ,less rapids in comparison to the first day. Along the way, there are more temples and villages mostly inhabited by the brahamins and Magars, The night is spent on the river beach.

    Day 03: Purtighat - Mirmi

    Some small rapids are encountered in this day of your journey which is relatively easy. You will get fun of having chance to see surrounding hills, the farmers can be seen busy in their fields and the children wave from a distance. This is the last day in Kaligandaki with having lunch together, you will change the route of Pokhara and makes the journey for interest in places as per your choice and interest.
